Photographs (NASA public domain)
NASA media usage guidelines (https://www.nasa.gov/nasa-brand-center/images-and-media/): NASA content is "generally ... not subject to copyright in the United States"; no implied endorsement, no NASA logos. Licence recorded in MEDIA as NASA public domain. Each source page and its API metadata were re-checked on 2026-11-04 with curl -sL (User-Agent web-evolution-licence-audit) for any non-NASA credit.

Result: none of the four carries a non-NASA credit. Nothing removed. (The images.nasa.gov details page is a JavaScript app, so credits were read from the images-api.nasa.gov search and metadata records and the photojournal pages, which hold the same data.) The wider candidate list and the items excluded for co-credits is in research/licensing.md.
Own work (CC0)
Every other MEDIA item is licence: 'own work', credit Web Evolution (own recreation), source scripts/build-gifs.ts. They are hard-edged drawings written as SVG rects and encoded with sharp. Nothing was traced from an archive, clip-art collection or research/references/. No vendor logos or bitmaps.

src/assets/thumbs/era-NN.webp): our own captures of this site's?era=N&step=last&freezeat 1440x900 (verified inscripts/build-thumbs.ts: the 1016x853 stage rectangle is cropped, then resized to 320 px wide WebP) byscripts/build-thumbs.ts. They contain only our own pages and the NASA photos above.
Sounds
There are no audio files. All 13 sounds are synthesized at runtime with sample maths in src/audio/synth.ts (seeded noise from src/engine/rng.ts), so no third-party recording is used: crt-thunk, chime, disk-tick, ui-click, flash-loop, dialup, crunch, pop, tap, whoosh, tick, ambient-pad, midi-jupiter.
midi-jupiter: our own hand-written four-bar sequence of the Thaxted theme from Holst, Jupiter (The Planets, composed 1914-16, first performed 1918, score published 1921; Holst died 1934). The composition is public domain (US: published before 1930; UK/EU: life plus 70 years ended 2004). Only the composition is used, from the melody; no MIDI file, score edition or recording was copied. Rendered by our own FM voice, so there is no SoundFont.dialup: DTMF, a 2100 Hz answer tone with phase reversals, low-passed noise. No recording of a real modem is used (the CC0 candidates noted inresearch/licensing.mdwere not downloaded).

Licence text: the full SIL Open Font License 1.1 is in docs/licences/OFL-1.1.txt (copied from @fontsource/inter/LICENSE; the text is identical in each package, and only the copyright line differs). OFL-1.1 requires the copyright notice and licence to travel with redistributed fonts. All six are OFL-1.1; none is Apache-2.0 (checked in each package's LICENSE).
